Kiru Psychology Services

Fees

Kiru Psychology Services is a private full fee paying practice with payment required on the day of appointments. Sessions with your psychologist last for approximately 50mins with the last few minutes of a session set aside to book future appointments and process payments. Session fees are $200.

If an out of hours appointment is offered and agreed to, such appointments will incur a $20 out of hours surcharge. Out of hours appointments are defined as appointments booked from 5pm or later on weekdays and on weekends.

Referrals

Medicare

You will need to email your Mental Health Treatment Plan and referral letter from the GP prior to your appointment. You will then receive a rebate of a portion of the session fee. If we do not receive the appropriate documentation prior to your appointment, you will be charged the full fee for the session on the day.

NDIS

This practice is currently accepting only clients with self managed plans.

Client Confidentiality

Client confidentiality is of paramount importance to this practice. We understand that clients need to feel comfortable and safe. All information disclosed is treated with confidentiality and discretion. Every member of the team is required to comply with the Australian Psychological Society (APS) Code of Professional Ethics. There are some limits to client confidentiality such as when there are indications of harm to self or to others and subpoenas from court.

Cancellation Policy

As we have a lengthy waiting list, our appointments are precious. When an appointment is booked, the psychologist reserves this time specifically for you. As such, we require a minimum of 24hrs notice for any cancellations and/or rescheduling of appointments. Our cancellation policy is in place so that we can offer the allocated time to another person in need who is waiting for an appointment.

In accordance with APS guidelines, if less than 24hrs notice is provided and/or non-attendance of a scheduled appointment occurs, the FULL FEE will be charged.

You will receive a reminder text message the day prior to your appointment. Please reply with a “Y” to confirm or “N” to cancel. Without your confirmation we cannot guarantee your appointment. Clients are expected to pay for their consultation at each appointment.

We understand that at times you may be unable to attend due to sudden illness or an emergency. We ask that you contact us as soon as possible to explain the situation.

Non-attendance or late cancellations affect 3 individuals.

1. The client – by delaying access to support and recovery

2. Another client – who is on the waiting list to see the psychologist

3. The psychologist – who has spent time preparing for the session
